Nottingham Light Night

Nottingham Light Night

On 10th February Nottingham City held its 10th Light Night, where many places in the city centre and just outside put on different displays of light. Many places were free to get in and it was well worth a trip down especially is you had a family. There were people dressed up (even the police joined in), many food stalls, music in every quarter of the city, people selling glowing sticks and toys and of course the big wheel in the market square. There were concerts in churches and the library - music for everyone's taste.

Here are some photographs of the evening....................................

This was inside the University Building - a complete surprise - I spotted it as I walked past.

These birds would have looked amazing later in the evening in the Arboretum - I will have to go there later next year...................

St Mary's Church in the Lace Market was lit up and had the choir singing throughout the evening as did many other churches

This was the Galleries of Justice, that whole area was so good. There was plenty to see and do both inside and outside here - so much local history - I loved it!

Then there was Nottingham Castle which was all lit up - this was my favourite part!

The Mirror by the Playhouse - with the upside down reflection of St Barnabus's Cathedral.

And of course the big wheel in the Old Market Square .............

A thoroughly enjoyable evening - Check the date out for next year!
